It does everything all the other aimpoints do but it is much lighter and will take as much as any other aimpoint.. and if you are going for a light build then the Aimpoint T-1 will really help out with that.. but even if you are not I would still go with it over any other red dot.. I mean others have a bigger FOV but it really does not matter since its a true 1x optic.. so you dont have to worry about FOV if you know what I mean.. CPTI

I was wondering; does a plate carrier have any pros that the Mesa Tactical does not when their are no plates being used? Or are plate carriers worthless without plates in them? I am liking the idea of the Mesa Tactical since I will be moving to the desert soon but for the same price I can get a pretty nice plate carrier.

So if you had ~$200 to spend on a new rig what would you get?

IMO If you are not going to get plates dont buy a plate carrier it will feel “bulky ” without plates in it . Get a decent chest rig ,or a MOLLE vest like the Mesa Tactical.

Eotech

HTH… Tomac lilMAC25 4/12/2012 10:52:07 AM jukeboxx13: Not a wise choice if you want to shoot fast because the EOTech is the fastest optic out there imo. If your just shooting at the range then the night sights would be good to go, i myself am looking for night sights also and the ones you posted look real nice Not sure if serious… Have you ever handled a MePro21. Do you know what the reticules look like? Have you ever used each to see which one is faster for you? MePro21′s Bullseye reticule is ridiculously fast (just as fast as EOTech for me). It’s a simple circle with a dot in it. As Tomac always says, reticule washout is the bane of fiber optic/tritium lit sights, particularly when aiming from a dark area into a well lit one. The fix for that is to have a 1/3 cowitness setup with your irons… If I was to buy right now I’d get a MePro21 OR an XPS model EOTech .

This would be spread out across 5 or 6 different companies I am completely guesstimating here but the business just isn’t that big. One of us gun nuts that buys all this stuff thinks up a new product and thinks they are going to make a ton of cash doesn’t stop to think that gun owners are only a slice of the population and most gun owners buy just a couple of factory guns and use them just like they come from the factory As others have said anything but a little hobby business gets strangled by setup costs. The actual production cost of an item is not the major consideration The smart guys are the ones who can take a product that is already produced and adapt it to the firearms industry ,repackage, market and profit You can’t tell me 95% of the gun lubes and cleaning supplies are nothing but automotive stuff that is repackaged I can agree there… I don’t buy many of the Gun accessories because I can’t afford to pay $70 for a vertical grip. The only vertical grip I have, I won for free! Tasked with the decision between $40 rail covers or no rail covers, I will choose no rail covers. I agree that the market is limited for AR15 Gun accessories but in my opinion, the cost itself keeps the market from growing. ETA: The fact that Falcon Industries patented the idea of rail covers and sued everyone else doesn’t make the accessory market cheaper. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=528721&Q=&is=REG&A=details UTex86 [Member] 9/15/2011 1:32:12 PM They charge the most the market will bare. ETA: And some companies don’t want to get big. If they are profitable and stable and employ a few good people, growth is not necessarily a primary concern. jrzy

4/8/2012 5:32:45 PM nolan11: goldeyeslayer:So, here’s my problem. New rifle is a CMMG M4 flattop with the fixed front sight. I’m going to mount an EOTech 512 to it, and I’d like to get a BUIS to go with it. My questions are thus: 1) Will a MagPul MBUS work with the fixed front sight? 2) Does said MagPul have a short- and long-range aperture, or just one? 3) Is the LaRue/Troy BUIS worth the $90 difference, given that the EOTech will be my primary sight? Thanks, all! ARJJ
